شو لازمك؟ (Shu Lazmik?)
ceramic, cold finish, 2025
A utilization of motifs inspired by Islamic and Damascene architecture, as well as more contemporary whimsical elements. The Arabic script reads “شو لازمك؟” or “what do you need?,” while the smaller text reads “روح روحي,” or “the soul of my soul".” Both reference words of care, of compassion, of childhood and its innocence—as do the drawings. It sits on a precipice of childhood, the looking back and remembrance: the tenderness in the face of the daunting future.
